Welcome to the NeuroomNet online documentation!
On this website you will find the online documentation for the NeuroomNet software. NeuroomNet was developed by inSynergie GmbH and is a well-known and widely used software for controlling buildings and events (especially in the museum environment), particularly in Germany. Even though the software was originally developed primarily for the control of media technology (with typical protocols such as PJLink, DMX, KNX), it is now used in much more general scenarios, such as the control of hotels, training rooms or even your own flat1. This documentation is aimed at anyone who wants to know what is possible with NeuroomNet and how NeuroomNet can be configured and operated.
Basic instructions for reading the online documentationβ
In the left-hand section of this website 2 you will find the individual main chapters, which are generally divided into sub-chapters. You are currently in βWelcome to the NeuroomNet online documentation!β. We generally recommend reading from top to bottom. The further down a chapter is, the more optional it tends to be or (at least detailed) reading is usually only worthwhile if you need the relevant knowledge.
Specific reading recommendationsβ
The following are reading recommendations for typical groups of potential readers. In case of doubt, however, you are of course welcome to read everything (and on-demand anyway) π.
Pure users of an already configured NeuroomNet installationβ
Pure users of an already configured NeuroomNet installation who do not make any changes to the configuration themselves (e.g. a caretaker or night watchman) usually only need instruction in the specific preconfigured operating devices and displays (often these are only preconfigured dashboards). However, if these users have access to the NeuroomNet start page (and individual modules within it), it is also advisable to read the chapters listed in All users who have a technical user for the NeuroomNet start page.
All users who have a technical user for the NeuroomNet start pageβ
To build up a good basic understanding, we recommend reading the following upper chapters (incl. subchapters) in the order given - at least if you have access to NeuroomNet / start page / modules:
- Brief introduction and basics
- NeuroomNet homepage
- Monitoring module
- Setup module
- Time control / scheduling module
All users who have a technical user for the NeuroomNet start page and also carry out configurationsβ
In addition to reading the chapters listed in All users who have a technical user for the NeuroomNet start page, it is recommended that NeuroomNet users who make configurations in the system, especially administrators, read the following chapters:
- Rights management module
- Module Script Blocks : At least read and understand the basics3
- Module Dashboard: As with the Script Blocks module, it is enough to read and understand the basics first. This module in particular is extremely powerful and complex and detailed reading is generally only recommended when there is a specific need.
- Traffic Inspector module
- Security and certificates
- Quickstart guide for configuring the system: This provides a rough overview of typical concrete steps and a recommended sequence for setting up the NeuroomNet system Otherwise, read the other chapters as required or of interest.
Have fun and success!β
All in all, we wish you much success and, last but not least, fun and enjoyment in configuring and using your NeuroomNet installation. In particular, constructive feedback on the documentation and on NeuroomNet itself is very welcome and can be given via the email address info@neuroom.net. The documentation and NeuroomNet are constantly being improved!
Footnotesβ
-
To be on the safe side, a small disclaimer: Controlling your own flat with NeuroomNet is currently only recommended for technically very interested, motivated and resourceful people. It is to be expected that you will have to develop the one or other interface to a device to be controlled yourself using device protocols or similar. β©

At least when visiting the website via a normal computer / monitor. The display may be different on mobile devices. β©
-
Detailed reading and understanding of the Script Blocks module (= NeuroomNet's script engine, so to speak) is only required if you intend to write or modify scripts. β©
